## Three.js as Publication Layer: GLB Assets in the Content Pipeline

Publishing has been flat for five centuries: text and images on a page. The futures thesis is that the next publication layer is three-dimensional — GLB models rendered in the browser by Three.js, embedded in posts the way images are today. The knob-device room is the flagship, but the pattern is general: a product becomes a 3D model you can orbit; an architecture becomes a space you can walk through; a research graph becomes a constellation you can navigate. Three.js is not a game engine bolted onto the site; it is the publication layer the content pipeline learns to write.

## What we built

The build path is already specified in the lucid-studio-design-rules study: author in Blender, export GLB, render with Three.js in a revslider custom addon or standalone page, WebGL2 on the integrated GPU, content injected from the WP REST API. The God Mode view (P3.3) is live evidence that the stack works — an interactive Three.js visualization of the agent swarm as a 3D tensor graph at dashboards/god-mode-view.html. The S9 series verified the media pipeline’s quality bar (S9.9), and the brand’s visual language (S9.8) gives 3D assets their constraints. The studio generation folder already holds 3D outputs. The missing piece is the content-pipeline integration: a workflow where an article can ship with a GLB the way it ships with a hero.

## The vision

An article about the mesh includes an embedded GLB of the actor graph — rotating, zoomable, showing the supervision tree in three dimensions. A product article includes a 3D model of the device. A futures article about the knob room includes a low-poly version of the room itself. The publisher becomes a world-builder: the post is a space, not a page. Because the assets are local-first (GLB files on the site, WebGL2 rendering in the browser), the 3D layer costs nothing to serve and respects the sovereign-infrastructure rule — no third-party CDN, no cloud rendering dependency.

## What’s next

The next increment is a template: a Three.js embed component that takes a GLB URL and a fallback image, lazy-loads on scroll, and renders with the cypherpunk-goth environment (dark background, neon accents). The knob-room prototype task t_bbea15db is the first real user of it.

*Grounded in the lucid-studio-design-rules study, the P3.3 God Mode view, the S9 media series, and the sovereign-infrastructure rule. Twenty-third article in the SECTOR07a futures series.*
