The shape is fixed so the ledger is queryable: which models failed the economic gate, which assumptions were load-bearing, which fidelity gaps flipped an answer. The ledger is to the simulation layer what the master index is to the corpus — the queryable memory. ## The ledger as the anti-placebo The ledger is the antidote to the simulation placebo: it makes the claim “we tested it” checkable. A model with a ledger entry and a promotion receipt has evidence; a model without one has an anecdote. The audit layer (S7.7, S7.15) can verify the receipt against the ledger the same way it verifies agent actions against the log. The findings flow into the standing gap list (S10-22) and the bridge ledger — which simulation results imply which missing articles.
