The Knob-Device Room: A 3D Cypherpunk Control Surface
There is a room in the Kingdom of Truth’s design notes that does not exist yet: a single large 3D-rendered space, modest polygon count, in which a cypherpunk device with physical knobs sits at the center. Each knob rotation rotates the content on the surrounding screens — three to six cyberpunk screens showing full-page views of posts, products, forum threads, and media, rotating with a crystal-like animation as the knob turns. The futures thesis is that this room is not a gimmick. It is the control surface for the entire operation — a physical metaphor for the graph, where turning a knob navigates the knowledge base the way a hand turns pages. The content engine builds it; the room becomes the interface.
What we built
The concept is documented in the lucid-studio-design-rules study (PART 3 — the 3D cypherpunk knob-device concept) with a concrete build path: Three.js + GLB models in a revslider custom addon or standalone page, WebGL2 on the integrated GPU, authoring the room and device in Blender, exporting GLB, and injecting content from the WP REST API into textures or HTML overlays per knob position. The task t_bbea15db (CONCEPT: 3D cypherpunk knob-room GLB prototype) was already running. The studio’s visual language (S9.8) gives the room its look: dark base, neon cyan and violet accents, architectural geometry, sensor grain. The God Mode view (P3.3) already renders the agent swarm as a 3D tensor graph — the knob room extends that visualization language from the fleet to the content.
The vision
The knob room is the public face of the graph. A visitor enters, sees the room and the device, turns a knob, and the screens rotate through the corpus — posts, products, forum threads, media — each view a live REST query. Turn to “physical ascension” and the screens show the SECTOR07a articles, the research briefs, the related media. The room is a storefront, a portfolio, and a knowledge browser at once. It is also the answer to “what is the 3D cypherpunk world” — a world you walk into, built from content you already have, rendered locally with WebGL2.
What’s next
The next increment is the prototype task already defined: model the room and device in Blender, export GLB, wire a Three.js scene, and hook the knob to the WP REST API for content. This article is the futures anchor for that build.
Grounded in the lucid-studio-design-rules study (PART 3 knob-device concept), task t_bbea15db, the S9.8 visual language, and the P3.3 God Mode view. Twenty-second article in the SECTOR07a futures series.
