## Team Augmentation, Worked: Capability-to-Team Bridge in Practice

The capability-to-team bridge (BR.5) described team augmentation as an offer; this is the worked example. Team augmentation is the skill product (EX-2) aimed at a human organization: the client’s team gains a standing capability — research, publishing, visual production, security review — without hiring. The agents join the client’s operation as a virtual department. This is what augmentation actually looks like on the ground.

## The augmentation model

The client’s operation is mapped into the reference architecture (EX-11): which of their workflows can be agent-run, which need a human in the loop, and which need a bridge between the two (the capability-to-team bridge, BR.5). The augmented team is assembled from the skill library (S4 series): a research associate (S10.13 cadence), a publishing operator (the pipeline, S12 series), a visual producer (S9 series), and a security reviewer (EX-7) — each a packaged capability (EX-2) with a defined interface and a defined evidence trail.

## How the augmented team works

The augmented team runs on the same operating discipline as the kingdom’s own fleet: runbooks (OP-1), health checks (OP-8), incident response (OP-5), and the audit trail (S7.15). The client’s human team sees the agents through the dashboard (EX-3) — assigning work, reviewing output, and pulling the evidence of what was done. The handoff between human and agent follows the zero-trust pattern (S7.3): signed task summaries, verified results.

## The economics of augmentation

Augmentation is priced as a team, not as headcount: a fixed monthly envelope for a defined capability set (the retainer economics of EX-9 applied to a whole department). The client replaces a hiring process with a subscription, and the provider replaces idle capacity with utilization — the fleet’s agents work for multiple clients across the day, metered per tenant (OP-4, S6.12). Team augmentation is how the skill library (S4) becomes revenue: the capabilities the kingdom built for itself, rented to teams that need them.

*Grounded in the EX worked-example series, the BR.5 capability-to-team bridge, the S4 skills series, and the S7.3 zero-trust article. Thirteenth article in the Round D examples track.*
